What we did
  • Clarinet - No instrument yet
  • Flute - No instrument yet
  • Trumpets - Mouthpiece buzzing; establish concert Bb with good tone (open horn low pitch)
  • Alto Saxophones - Reviewed line 1, 2, 4 in book; Played line 7 and 8 (Mastery met on line 7)
  • Trombone - (no book) - played D, C and Bb with the rhythm as shown on page 6 of method book
  • Percussion - Paige had instrument - worked to establish an acceptable bounce stroke in each hand then in alternating strokes.

What to do
  • Students need to have instruments
  • Learn lines 1,2, and 4
  • Apply concepts to line 5,6,7 to achieve:
    • Correct pitches/fingerings
    • Establish consistent steady tempo
    • Start each note with a "Ha-Too" articulation
    • Begin to establish proper tone quality
    • Establish consistent proper posture
